The history of VIMA begins 3 generations ago when in 1923 the MAZLOUMIAN BROS founded in Thessaloniki the first machine shop at Vatikiotou 1 Street in the city center. With supplies of that time they managed to fully support the industries and household appliances of Thessaloniki but also of Northern Greece.

As the years go by, World War II ends and Vartan Mazlumian, a descendant who grew up in a family specializing in mechanical arts, decides to deal with trading and construction items. As a result he founded VIMA in 1956, based in Thessaloniki, Odysseos 1-3 Street, in the center of business interest of that time.

The company grows year by year, settles in new facilities, MONASTIRIOU 151, expands its activities throughout Northern and Central Greece, increasing its turnover at a time when the country is industrialized and economically developed.

In the early 1970s, Vartan Mazlumian, who constantly travels to Europe, realized that the future belonged to the metalworking industry, while at the same time seeing the establishment of important industrial units throughout the country. So he makes the big decision to turn the main activity of his company to cutting tools, precision measuring instruments and metalworking machines.

He dares his first trip to faraway Japan and gets his first representations of this type. The new items are making waves in the processing of metal that until then it was done in the old traditional way. At the same time, it ensures the correct presence of the new technology with demonstrations by engineers in factories and industries.

VIMA grows, is considered by many to be the pioneering company in these projects, when with the support of the sons of the founder, Joackim and Horen Mazloumian, it spreads its wings to new horizons.

The season of electronics is dynamically invading to the metal processing industry. The first CNC (Electronic Machines) Lathes - Mills come to Greece.
